The Truth About AI in Design: Tools Don’t Replace Talent
    AI design future
AI didn’t kill creativity. It just exposed who actually has it. You open ChatGPT, Midjourney, or one of their cousins and ask for a logo for your dropshipping store. In seconds, you get something. It looks okay. Clean. Maybe even impressive — if you’re not a designer. But here’s where it gets interesting. When a designer or marketer asks ChatGPT for an ad or a visual — they write a way more detailed, thoughtful prompt. The result? Sharper. More aligned. Way more professional. Why? Because they know what to ask for. I saw this in real-time with my artist girlfriend. My Prompt: "Create a modern art image with a blue background and a human riding a horse." Her Prompt: "A person riding a horse, wearing clothes from the 1600s, a British military officer with medals, a white horse, a hat, and a sword." Guess which one looked better? She knew what to describe. I didn’t. And that’s the whole point. The average person doesn’t know what’s needed to create great art, branding, or design — so when they ask AI to do it, the results are… mid. AI isn’t replacing creatives. It’s just automating mediocrity. So what happens when someone with no experience asks AI for an ad or a logo? They get average results. When a professional asks? They still shine — even with the same tool. AI won’t kill creative jobs — it’ll just make the real creatives stand out more.
